Jayna Miller, author and illustrator of the wonderfully charming and soon-to-be released award-winning book, TOO MUCH TRICK OR TREAT, is available for school visits and presentations in your region!!! What a great opportunity for your students!!!

Jayna offers two types of programs: Meet the Author is an assembly program that shows her progression from child artist to professional author/illustrator, using slides and her original artwork. Your students get to understand the process of creating a picture book from story idea to revising, editing, and, finally, publication. She also draws large illustrations on an easel and answers any questions your students may have.

She also conducts Young Author Workshops for smaller groups. In these hands-on sessions, Jayna gets your students writing, illustrating and having fun! Students learn how to spice up their writing, improve their drawing skills and get their work published. Your kids will also be fascinated by Jayna’s demonstration of how to use various art materials for illustration.

NEW THIS YEAR — Whichever program you may choose for your students, Jayna is encouraging students to perform a short skit based upon TOO MUCH TRICK OR TREAT. This Halloween activity is an exciting way for your kids to prepare for an author visit and to become familiar with all the wonderful characters of her book. If you don’t have TOO MUCH TRICK OR TREAT before Jayna gets to your school, a photocopy of the book will be sent to you for preparation purposes. Actual copies of the new reprinting will be available October 7, 2005.
